What did you do to your crosscheck today?

So why don’t they pay for it then?

Well, I just got a reply from them, minutes ago, and they are going to! I have no idea where they are getting it from, as there are no stocks in the importers site. I was very impressed with their response. Maybe they are borrowing it off their reps bike… These guys are not incompetent, I can totally see how it happened. As soon as you pull the shifter cable out, the rear cable set drops off and the little doofer would have rolled away, unobserved…

This is basically the only way I flat now. Once you notice that your tires are losing air more rapidly than they should between rides, it is time to add sealant!

Good to know. I haven’t been tubeless long enough to have noticed a difference. How long should a dose of sealant last?

¯_(ツ)_/¯ I don’t really pay attention too much, which is why I just top it off when I notice the tires going soft too quickly. I feel like I add sealant twice a year on average. Definitely depends on how often you ride the bike, humidity, ambient temp, phase of the moon, etc…

Rode the street trials. Took the brakes of because they need work.

Ended up getting up a 32" wall doing an honest hop and practiced some stationary side hops up stuff.

Open 2x is finally done. Can’t be many Opens rocking a vintage MTB chainring. Maybe I will swap it out for my biopace 46. Accidentally installed it all with an 11-42 cassette on the back instead of my wheel with the 11-40 on. I can cross-chain no problems with the 46 front and 42 rear. No rubbing anywhere, although that’s only in the stand, still not ridden it. I do like this tail-hook-lengther life tho. It would probably work very well with a 48 on the front with the 40 on the back. Little ring is a 34. Derailleur is at its lowest point. I have a chain keeper. Wondering if I should install it? This bike does lots of trail riding. Gonna order a new front ring from these guys I reckon.

Put a black bell on the Katu and guess that’s all I have motivation for today.

Got my Poprad mostly put back together.
New fork, new front wheel, new crank with the Doval 30/46 rings, new pedals thanks to Dr. Welby. Gravelking SK tubelessed pretty easy, although I’m worried the rear won’t hold air but we’ll see tomorrow.
I think my dangler is bent. I checked the dropout alignment and it was perfect, but the pulleys are way out of line. I can’t see anywhere on the body of the dangler that’s tweaked but I can’t figure out what else it might be. I think I’m gonna order a GX 10 speed to replace.
Brake adapters are making me mad. I could have sworn I got a flat mount CX77, but it’s definitely not since they don’t make one. I’m very confused by Shimano’s myriad of adapters.
So I thought I’d be able to finish this bike today but it turns out I need more doodads.

I finally put cleats on my RX8 shoes after having them for almost 9 months. They might actually get used this year.

Some guy asked me how many bikes I owned and I just realized in the house I currently have

  • steel
  • titanium
  • alu/scandium
  • carbon
The Ti is for sup to use and I will be moving the steel out soon but didn’t realize I could offer a full materials tasting palette rn

The one grantism I shall never abandon is using DT shifters for truly ludicrous drivetrain decisions

I’ve got that one too. I wish now that I’d looked after it better rather than just using it as a singlespeed chain-tensioner, but I’ve committed some serious crimes over the years. On our ride in the weekend I noticed the 4 of us all using completely different shifting mechanisms. One with friction DT shifters, one with Gevenalles, one GRX and my own Sram force with 2x gizzard donor.
