Flipped the Ritchey Kyoto bars up and it’s much better. Did some pogos and fancy trackstands.

Finally acquired an hg800 11-34 cassette for the coffee grinder to replace the 11-28 I had on there when the Peugeot stole the hg700 11-34 from it during my last major dither.

Had my 26er HT fuck-around bike loaned out for years. Discovered there’s a new pump track a mile from my house, so I got it back and replaced the old, cheap, clapped out fork with something made in the past decade that’s slightly less clapped out and cheap.

Cleaned some of the rust off. Rubber on the peatys is spent, so got some new ones coming.

Anyone want to make any predictions 'bout how this is gonna end? 48yo dude meets pump track.

it’ll probably be a lot of fun is my prediction but you’ll get sucked down a whole new rabbit hole of dithering

Yup. Within a year you’ll pick up a more appropriate frame set to build, and I’m sure there is some pump-track-specific squats or whatever excercises you can dither about too!

Is it dirt or tarmac?

i think the pump track can be kept chill enough if you recognize that you no longer bounce.

Yeah, you don’t have to barge it on a pump track. But you can.

It’s gonna be fun. I need to try to make it out one weekday morning.

Have had a really aggravating click on my winter bike. Tried everything easy and came to the conclusion that the bb is probably shot or something — but it feels smooth enough to me.

Decide to pull and replace anyway. I quickly learn it’s not coming out by my hands. I get it to loosen by about an eighth of a turn and then nothing. Fuck this shit. Previous owner was definitely a serial overtorquer/cross threader.

I did determine the NDS cup was pretty loose, popped out turning the bb tool by hand. Greased the fuck out of that, greased the fuck out out of the tapers and tightened everything up real good.

Click is gone. Thinking it was the loose NDS cup. But now I have a seized bb of unknown origin or age stuck on this thing. Maybe the last winter for this poor old raleigh, it’s pretty messed up after two winters.

I rode my Lorry on a bmx racetrack this weekend. It was fun watching all the garbage in the front bucket do a zero g float for a second on the downslope of the jumps.

Rode in Bentonville AR. Riding tomorrow too. I think I’m going for some drops and gaps.

I had turned my bike upside down to get better, more stable leverage in trying to whang that bottom bracket loose and learned that’s a no-no with wet brakes when I squeezed that lever all the way down to the bar this morning, god damn it

I need to end up somewhere like Bentonville. Rode a really technical trail called apple turn over to bike park jump trails. I need trails like this in my life.
