What did you do to your crosscheck today?

How are those Black Mountain frames?

There’s a BMC caliper brake road frame on Seattle CL right now. Would it be an upgrade from a Casseroll or more of a lateral move?

V brakes? The fork crown area is already so complicated with the fender and light I really don’t want to change anything

Plus these shimano cx50’s are the ne plus ultra cantibrake

I mean it’s going to happen eventually, I’ve just always been too broke to buy nice modern stuff

I didn’t choose to wear this cape, but it was cheap

@ShartAttack had one I think? And maybe @adem ? Or am I misremembering?

I sometimes forget that shimano cantis work just fine with flat bar levers. V-brakes tho

I think @anon24974279 had one, sold it, then posted an ad to try and buy it back, if that tells you anything

That tells me nothing. :slightly_frowning_face:

Paging @imoscardotcom to the tarck courtesy phone.

He posted his in the dammit thread recently.

It’s true! I had one and I sold and regretted it and tried to find it again. But couldn’t. It should tell you that it was an excellent bike. Checked all my boxes for a road bike. Very nice little bike. Any specific questions?

Updated from 10 to 11 speed. Pulled the Tektros Mini V for TRP Mini V because 65 dollhairs shipped, new. Thanks dickbrakes. New wheels, Bitex to R460 hoops. Old were 105 to R460. Like those hoops a lot.

Need to cable and wrap bars. Hoping to ride Sunday.

'sup rim brake bro.

Sup.

LOL have since found an old American Classic post of the correct size in the bin. It’s a hideous design, but has a fine angle adjustment bolt. Time to weigh the value of vanity.

Found a threadless adapter in my bins so swapped quill + cruisers for this ritchey stem and spec flat bar. Feels comfy, looks terrible. Time to keep dithering.

I have the disc version and really like it - It’s pretty fun on trails, pretty fun on the road and feels really versatile. I think Id prefer the rim brake version, but here we are.

Penance project update. Tried hand-filing the threaded cup but with no vise it was a futile task. A framebuilder friend with a lathe finished the job for the cost of a couple beers.

It bought 6 mm which now for a total of 33 mm should cause no trouble finding a cheap stem to clamp it. Thanks @EndpointBraden for the hot tip.

New bike showed up and front shifting is not good. Trying to set it up- holy cow these modern Shimano front mechs are wild.

Yep, they’re different

note that the “H” screw is not a high limit - it moves the whole cage outboard/inboard

Yo, didja RTFM?
