I put finish line sealant in a tube in a rene herse tire. Judge away. This tire is also on a bike with a crust fork and a 26" fender on a 20" wheel.

Yeah… no. Not even on a group ride. I don’t mind the risk, but I certainly don’t want to risk anyone else.
That particular stretch is kinda scary too because motorists brains can’t grok a cyclist doing 50+, so folks pulling out or turning left just don’t see you.
no judgment here because that shit works great! enjoy not stopping for a flat for ~9-12 months!

I’ve always wanted to ride down this section, but the only times I’m up that way with a bike its got knobby tires and is hanging off the back of my buddy’s tailgate.

It’s not especially fun. Steep, wide and bumpy divided 4-lane with a couple traffic signals, potential left-turners and a couple spots where folks can pull out in front of you. Curves are sweeping, so not especially tricky to navigate, it’s basically just an exercise in figuring out what kind of person you are.
I’m the kind of person that by the time I hit this descent, wants to get home as quickly as possible, doesn’t like to ride their brakes, and has a high tolerance for risk.
Joaquin Miller Road is a more fun. Snake road is the best over in my neck of the woods.
I haven’t spent any time on j-Miller road except riding to trails.
My favorite descent around the area is definitely Claremont
My nord is back from the framebuilder with raised brake bridge! I’m not crazy about the gold rattlecan paint. It’s the first idea that popped into my head to prevent corrosion and i will entertain suggestions for alternatives if anyone has em. But the added 5mm of clearance is

Got the trials bike back together after stripping the frame, fork and bars. Put a big plus sign in tape on the garage floor to practice stationary balance and wheel placement. Moving one wheel around while keeping the other wheel stationary is really tiring.

@Face if it starts drooping under load, I’m gonna need a helluva strap to secure it up to the bars!
What’s the longest vole eye strap available?
In PF BB creak news, I spent some time trying to figure out where mine was. Previously, I had removed and re-tightened all the chainring bolts with no avail. This time, I popped the BB out, gave everything a solid wipe down, and put it back in. There was still a creak.
After I torqued the chain ring bolts down more, the creak went away. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻

Lubed my chain, I think I’ve got a real good system with this particular lube I’ve been using. C3 dry from muc-off, which I didn’t like at first but after having a real hard time getting along with the bottle of rock ‘n’ roll, I’m kinda in to it. If anyone is interested I can share my method that seems to work well. Got the brakes feeling really good. Full adjustment, filed the pads a bit, got the reach on the levers where it’s been feeling like they should have been. Peeled the hollowgram decals off the wheels, and swapped the stem for the same stem but without graphics. Also readjusted the bar roll and hood position and it’s not quite where I want it but it’s getting close, and i think some new carbon bars might be in order…
I’m getting into this bike more and more as I play with it and ride it In equal amounts. Thinking about giving it a little more love and giving it a bit of a sensible weight weenie treatment. Quick calculations show I could shed almost a quarter pound off of it pretty easy, putting it sub 17lbs. Pretty cool for a production steel frame.

Finally did lowers service on the trance 29. Probably should have pulled the air spring, but damn what a difference.
Next week the air can service. I know its not that much more complicated besides all the rings and seals being in there. Just gotta remove and put down in order to install in reverse order.

I’ve been using Squirt for the last 12 months after switching from the Finish Line ceramic. I put a new chain on about 7 months ago and it’s still got about half its stretch left.
Somebody else has recommended it, but I’ve just never had good luck with wax based stuff. Totally could be operator error though. How often are you applying?
