What did you do to your crosscheck today?

@scott_dourque had a midnight special with paint penned dots a while back that looked awesome. Not sure if he posted it? Post your dots!

Indeed

Replaced the front fender bolt at the fork crown on the Boost because the stock one wasn’t even long enough to engage the nylon in the lock nut.

Bought a bunch of low profile stainless M5 Torx bolts at the same time, so a lot of my bikes are going to get new bottle cage bolts soon. Death to all the stainless M5 button head bolts with 3mm Allen heads.

LOATHE

It me, the buyer and installer of those bolts. We save out worst behavior for those closest to us.

but torx also kinda sucks.

What? Torx is awesome. The only part I don’t like is you can use an undersized tool and still get it to work… right until it doesn’t.

Hmm, and I guess there’s not a torx equivalent of a ball-end hex driver.

Spoke too soon.

Did some of this last night and it was very satisfying. Once the 3mm stuff is swapped out, next will be figuring out if my mind is okay with some bikes having T25 for one bottle cage and a regular 4mm M5 for the other (the cages that don’t need bolts with low profile heads). Pretty sure I know how that’s going to end.

And also I’m gonna end up buying a Wiha T25 soft finish screwdriver.

i did this with a bike’s worth of titanium T25 bolts and it was the bee’s knees. would recommend

I had looked at some Ti stuff on McMaster before and totally forgot when it was time to order. Looking now, there’s no Ti option for these two particular fasteners now anyway, would have been cool tho.

I just ordered some custom Ti fasteners for work. United Titanium has no MOQ I ordered like 36 screws and they were like $55 ea or so which isn’t too terrible.

Made some bag holders out of leftover webbing and webbing parts and a couple of s-biners consumed while shopping for fender flap materials.

those look like snowboards

Are those the grey ones? I’m about to buy a second pair. I love the ones I got from you. Best pedals ever.

Yup, those are the grey ones. A little lighter in color than what’s shown on their website, but a nice change from black.

I finally got around to putting the grey market XT dangler and clicker on the XC bike. The SLX will go on the enduro bike, since I keep roaching GX pulleys.

Tomorrow, I’m going to swap the remote lockout to a manual compression knob on the 34SC. I’m still undecided on how I’m going to tackle the rear lockout removal.
