Yup, came from the CoOp that way!
that rules. i want to do that for no reason other than to do more silly shit on my clydesdale
glad those little duders worked out for you! i’ve been dry aging them for at least a decade.
how did the kids like the candy?
Replaced finned resin pads with some metal trp jawns on the e-mtb. Also tried to lube the pistons a bit while the wheels were off. Hopefully they start to push out a bit more even.
put stock cockpit back on the Lorry to sell it. next time I have a cargo bike it’s going to be electric and also a kid hauler
Seemed to be more of an issue with Look than with Shimano in my experience. It’s at least an easy thing to check.
Finally got the long rear hydro hose replaced in the Xtracycle. Bought 19 feet of hose online and it came in multiple bags, sigh. At least the longest segment is going to get me two full rear hose replacements with just inches to spare.
Who did you order from (so we know to avoid for long hoses)?
Cambria. Honestly only place I found online that did it by the foot.
I had one section like 13’ and the other 6’. The Xtracycle takes like 6’ 4" or so.
Pros Closet had the BH90 hose for like $4 closeout by it was only the 1700 mm sections.
That’s some bullshit, I’d be tempted to call them up and have them re-send you a complete piece. You essentially got defective product.
Like, would they send you nineteen 12" sections and think that was OK because you got your 19 feet as ordered?
Because if it were me, I’d end up in the future swapping the bars or something on the bike and need 8" more hose and be pissed.
i mean they probably won’t want it back
you ordered an xl T-shirt? here are three smalls, now shut up, knit yourself a new T-shirt, and be happy
or like you ordered a long sleeve shirt and they sent you a muscle shirt and two arm warmers
Are you spying on me cheese?
Over the last couple of days I removed all the tension on the Jones front wheel and successfully retentioned it, with an unexpected chat with Jeff Jones in between (they don’t list tension on the product page for their aluminum rims and he’s the one that called me back). The wheel went from a difference of 0.40mm deflection between the spokes down to 0.03mm. It’s not as true, but way more than good enough for a 29 x 3.0 tire.
Took it for a short ride up and down the street. No more noise from the front wheel and the unnecessary brakes and drivetrain upgrades made it feel really nice. Bad vibes about this bike have been replaced with good vibes and I’m excited to finally ride it.
I thought this was was going to be a pain and was dreading it. It turns out wheel stuff is mostly mental for me. I’ll take another week off work when it’s time to build the next set.
Had the LBS install the headset and starting emptying blue boxes and hanging parts on the new frame
I need to talk to my buddy about reducing the donut holder on the fork I borrowed from him
ayyy the stem was a day later than scheduled but you wasted zero time!
The mail carrier walked up the drive, handed me the stem and I put it on.
Those are good bikes
I prefer the term ‘sternum punch’ ![]()
