I don’t know them super well, but I go to Luft (the shop that Blackheart sorta operates out of/shop that does most BH sales), the vibe makes total sense. Not entirely my thing, but the bikes are good at least. Gonna try to wil another this year lol
“Like a Rolex watch, these bikes can be passed down for generations.”
Kill me.
the build do look good tho.
Bike “generation” is what, three years currently? So yeah, LOL.
Like if Grant wrote for the J Peterman catalog
I think you would be better off with this jawn that’s shinier and lighter and stronger
I also have some older 26mm clamp Syncros stems hoarded in 120mm that were chrome-plated aluminum and absurdly shiny
I have no idea why but those 220º stems rub me the wrong way. Maybe it’s leftover resentment towards bar swaps on quill stem bikes.
Too shiny por moi
Mentioned earlier and elsewhere, the RemiDemi got some 4" Super Moto-X tires over the weekend and new tubes because damn those tires are PLUMP. Given the aspirational sizing of most bike tires, I expected them to be smaller than they turned out to be. Nothing larger would have fit under the stock fenders. I know OEM tires are usually heavy, but didn’t expect the much larger Moto-X to end up weighing ~550g less per tire. First real ride to the office this morning and they’re pretty great. Quieter, more comfy at the same pressure, and they seem to feel more stable in the turns than the stock turds. Easier to remove and reinstall as well. I don’t think I would have gotten the stock tires off with just the tire levers in the tool bag had that ever come up. Gearing seems fine even with the larger diameter, but the real test will be the dumb steep hill on the ride home.
Uglier? No way.
Previous setup had sad risers, ‘I’m sitting here with my elbows at my waist’. 2nd is moto AF ‘I’m gonna wreck shit’.
HY V2 is way cooler
Put some respect on the ritchey kyote bars. Though I found they feel better rotated down a bit, does not look as good as being level
Might put the feet straps on on instead of spd.
Oh yeah, not serious, exaggeration is just funnier.
Are those ergons or something else? How do you like them?
It’s these ones: Cork Chop Grips – Portland Design Works
So far I have 20 miles on them and i like them, kind of want to get them for the tandem now.
I wonder if Ash would like those, they’ve been complaining about the stock grips on the Madsen which are true trash.
These horrible things:
eww
I heard some weird noise from the back end while riding and ended up pulling a 3" finishing nail out of my tire. Hole sealed up perfectly and I lost about 3 drops of sealant and no air that I could tell. Didn’t even bother to top it off.
I’m a little worried about the nail scratching up the bed of the carbon rim, but I figure I’d be losing air through there if there was a hole or anything.
