Today I went to Recycled Cycles and traded a bunch of parts for some other parts.
Rear brake/rotors etc not shown!

Shifting was feeling pretty stiff on the Enviolo hub on the boxbiek so I figured I’d preemptively replace both shift cables since it has an unknown service/use history. Got the rear up in the air and it felt much better, plus it seemed to be shifting through the full range of the hub. Better to leave it be for now. Dropped some triflow inside the shift housing instead. Also freed one of the seatbelt strap ends that was caught between the underside of box and the frame while it was up in the air. Went to drill some holes to attach a bottle cage to the box, only to realize that I didn’t have the hardware to mount it.
Glad I bought the Remco lift even though I had to reposition it with a hand truck for this bike. Fucker is heavy.
The box on this bike is crazy. It’s only three pieces. The floor is one piece. The right side, back, and the rear part of the left side is a single piece. The front and left side is a single piece. Material has been removed at the corners and then it’s just bent.
The door on the left side has hinges, but it’s still the same piece as the rest of the left side and front.
Next time I have to work on our e-bullitt I’m getting jack stands
Oh I hadn’t thought about using jack stands. I have a pair similar to these that would be perfect for holding up the front.
Yeah - I’ve half-assed it in the past with finding other garage items to stick under the frame to support it, but I think my luck on the front is due to run out.
the electric lift looks pretty sweet!
Put Surly Sunrise bars on the commuter in place of the jones bars that are going on the new bike. Man, these fuckers are heavy!
Meine schwester is visiting from Berlin next week and wants a bike to get around. Since the kiddo isn’t riding her Pooprad, it is getting the townie treatment. I need to top off the tubes with some sealant probably.
There was a BIG ANT crate under the front wheel for a minute and all that made me think is that there has to be a better way!
Well, the Surly Sunrise bars will be coming off when I get home. Not a fan, 2.5 miles to work was enough.
no-sweep havin motherfuckers. you should try the sunset bars, they have more sweep but also weigh 1kg.
Would a motorcycle lift like this work for a cargo bike, maybe with a bit of adaption in where it contacts the frame and box? Not sure if the height is enough on this one. The pic is a screw-type scissor lift, the handle detaches so you can use an electric drill with a socket on it to power the lift up and down.
There are hydraulic ones that operate like a floor jack and other versions too.
Going back to the Kyote bars that were on there before but tying a shorter stem.
i’ve really been digging these:
i want to like the sunrise bars but yeah, they’re heavy af and have no sweep
I dig Stridsland Anchors, dunno what the deal is but 750g is fine with that much styyyyyyyle
edit: and 20º backsweep
Scullys are really nice bars.
Got the headset pressed in and hung some parts on the tarckino
I was browsing FBM this morning and saw a Salsa Warbird and I’m now pretty sure that is what the fork came off.
Didn’t bother stripping/waxing the new chain, just wiped off the excess factory lube and called it good.
I decided to put a 41t chainring on my scorcher. Now I get 41 skid patches… hell yeah.
Finding out how big of tire my co-worker’s bike fits, some late 2000s aluminum Schwinn. These 32mm gravel kings are actually 29mm, fits in the fork but not the rear, I fear he’s doomed to a 700x25 lifestyle.
dimple the rear? or is it a bridge/radius problem
