My rear brake was draggin all the way around the rotor so I pulled the pads and cleaned everything in there with ISO, swapped in new pads and a clean rotor and did a bit of a lever bleed. It still drags a little bit but not as bad. The lever feel is still garbage. I should probably do a full bleed but I haven’t had time(or energy or motivation) to mess with it again.
Curious to know the actual/inflated width.
I believe it measured 59mm right after install. I’ll double check tonight.
Cool. Thanks.
I finally bought a repair stand, so I did some overdue maintenance on my road bike
Lots of stuck-on dust from it sitting for 2-3 years when I started riding it again before a proper clean, so it only got stickier. I went thru with degreaser, pulled cranks and brakes, nylon brushed the derailleurs, brass brushed the cassette, and stuck the chain in mineral spirits. Next stop is waxing the chain because it’s a CA bike now
Dollar store has pretty good selection of cleaning supplies
New chain for the Rip9. Noticed a half broken link before it detonated.
Swapped in the old Deore cranks with 34t Wolf Toot, I didn’t actually hate the drop from 42t to 34t on the way in. I’m also not hating the turdly sunrise bars after a little forward rotation.
Your NFPA chart needs to be updated to GHS labeling.
good looking out
I’ll get the safety guy right on it (I’m the safety guy).
Those tires are so good, I’m surprised I don’t see them on more Joneses. I’m stoked for ya!
@Rent-to-own-Faxmachine 58.8 mm on i30 rims
After riding around for two days with my brake singing all the time, I finally got the time to do a full bleed on the thing. The fluid that came out of the thing was pretty grimy so I guess it was time.
Brake works now! Yay! I love it when my effort isn’t wasted. Happens so rarely.
Put the yellow fenders I had around in the Gary fisher cross bike
Details now that I’ve gotten some sleep:
The goal was to end up with a bag just big enough to hold an iPad and small enough to be stable on a front rack with the tombstone and RaClips but no decaleur.
I’m really pleased with myself for figuring out to use a Fidlock magnetic clip for the main closure. Reaching between the head tube and front rack to close the bag is always fussy, and I think the magnet be easy.
The bike is going to be pink. I wanted to make the whole bag pink, but my wife didn’t want it to look grimy immediately, so I switched to purple for the main panel.
Getting stitching on binding tape to look straight is really hard.
I only screwed up and had to tear out two seams!
HY I love having the correct tool for the job, installed a star fangled nut is so much easier with the tool.
WTH I cut the line on the fork instead of below it and it was an RCH too long, HY found another spacer.
the shallow bag height is really interesting me, is the bike also pretty short?
LOL. Yep. She’s 5’2". 135mm between the rack and the top of the handlebars.
