I once rode four miles to the metal recycler with 260 pounds of old brass plumbing junk in the back of my old xtra conversion. It was truly terrifying and I’m shocked that I didn’t break the bike. Got some $$$ for that junk tho!
I was thinking about whether it was wise to finally buy a 5gal keg and that seems very tame now lol
Dumbest thing I’ve ever carried on a bike was probably a 5gal water jug on a Tubus rear rack. Only did that for half a mile but whew it was a long half mile
dumbest thing i ever carried was probably my buddy taylor. he’s not that heavy but it was a good 5 miles with him sitting on my rear rack.
Yooooooo
Yes! I wasn’t crazy!
If my guys built a crate out of 3/8” ply edge screwed I’d send them back to do it again. And I’m not shipping kids.
I was thinking about this a lot recently, it would probably be pretty easy to get a set of templates cnc cut out of thin mdf and trace them with a router and proper bit to make a small batch of boxes.
Cringing.
yep. if the makerspace fixes ther cnc router i will be doing this. for what? i’m not sure yet
Your future Bullitt of course!
First rainy commute to school. The canopy worked beautifully. It’s gonna be interesting with a strong tailwind, that’s for sure! Headwind was NP this morning.
First time I’ve seen the little dude look a little anxious. Is it school or the idea of not having the cold wind blowing on his face during the ride?
He’s always a little anxious at drop off but then he likes to pick a flower for his teacher and bring it to her and my heart melts. He likes school but like he says, school is a little scary.
He loves the canopy. He calls it his space ship.
Oh haha I went to this school back when it was in church basements and attics
Did you know my friend Lindsay?
I don’t think so, my guess is I’m (at 33) >3 years younger than your cohort, which was how they structured classrooms, at least at the time (3-6, 6-9, 9-12). But it was a really small school, so maybe!
She’s 38 so probably not.
@iwillbe, I think this thingie will fit nicely on the back of my box. It’s certainly not a full size pannier. Penny for scale.
OMG, he’s just the best!
oh yeah, I have one of those little (3l? 5l?) guys lashed to my steering column.
I got way ahead of myself and bought a pair of full size Ortlieb panniers for this project, and then did nothing with them for a year.
