oh wow. i remember the hase pino, based on the bilenky counterpoint based on/maybe licensed from the opus counterpoint. looks like they make an e-pino now.
they make good, well thought out weirdo bikes atmo. big name in the adaptive scene

These folks will work on wacky e-project bikes after a one time ā€œElectric Bike Inheritance Feeā€ and are close with GrinTech

The back of that frame looks like a $150 k-mart mountain bike.

Yeah! This thing is wild.

Since that is a 1X, can you run the XT group that will shift while stopped? That seems like a good adaptive cycling feature.

what’s with the extra-mega-slack seat tube

my guess is fewer sizes and foot plant ability. bikeshare bikes are mega slack sta with a ludicrously high bb. the ETT really does grow a lot as you raise it. though in the bike share case, the high bb is needed to avoid pedal strike (usually mentioned as ā€œthe gears locked up on meā€ in incident reports) but that plus the keep on truckin’ seat tube makes for people putting the seat way way way too low

I’m going to get along with this bag pretty well. Pops off and on the bike easy enough and there’s a ton of extra room after my edc is packed.

How’s the water resistance?

I got an extra extra cycle PorterPack new in box … Turns out both the wife and I bought one during the black Friday sale…

It doesn’t appear to be waterproof. Will have to look into that.

I’ll take it off your hands maybe.

Sliding into those DMs

With two utility panniers, the front utility tray and bag, the double kickstand, a B17 saddle, and a Widefoot litercage, the Boost weighs 79 pounds empty (35 on the front wheel, 44 on the rear).

The utility panniers pass the important cat litter test.

You’ve inspired me to finally weigh the thing!

Edit: boy that picture sucks. It said 108.8
That’s with the wood box, the canopy, whatever crap has accumulated in the box in the last few days, a pannier with a raincoat and little a dry bag with spare clothes. That’s my baseline commuting load minus a 35lbs child and whatever he’s decided to bring along. Oh, and my tools and spares are in the box too, behind the seat back.

49.35kg on a scale rated for 50kg might not be perfectly accurate (though that is me knowing nothing about how strain guages work).

That’s also like a $8 XMORTOR scale so who knows about its accuracy.
Suffice it to say, the bike is heavy.

I’m honestly surprised it’s not more than that. That’s a lot of bike!

Unrelated HY - the Boost fits in the elevator at work just fine. It’s going to take a bit to get used to maneuvering this thing around. It’s within a pound of the weight of the Lorry (in e-bike mode) but more weight is on the front of that bike so it’s still easy enough to pick up the rear wheel to get it where I want it.
