Yep, no bounce at all. That is thick stainless, not at all easy to bend into that shape with good leverage.
well dang iām just not inventive enough. thanks folks
I use the unbent bracket attached to a p-clamp on the drive side front rack leg.
I have it lined up with the tire so that if it ever gets hit and spins, itāll drag on the tire instead of jamming into the spokes
I would not trust a p clamp that far if i had other options but lightweight light and no bosses checks out.
Yepā something with no risk of rotating into the wheel would be better, but I had no problems with this set up for ~5 years of use
I know this isnāt the bike messenger thread and most cagro bike in here are for kid toting but I just found out that Bagaboo makes cargo bike bags and Iām fucking blown away by the price.
US$295. That fucking zipper alone is like $10. The vinyl is probably $60. The cordura is maybe $40 if itās military compliant which they claim.
I straight up have no idea how theyāre making money on these considering theyāre surely not selling a ton of them. If I was still in the game Iād happily buy one. My fucking rolltop work bag I used for years was like $350 and that was in 2012.
Yeah, thatās outrageously cheap! Those bags look great and really well thought out.
I canāt believe how expensive this kinda stuff has become. I bought my bullitt kid canopy about two years ago and it was roughly half as expensive as it is today!
Been considering one of these for a while. Should probably just buy one before they come to their senses.
Today I overheard two other cargo bike dads at drop off chatting about their urban arrows and one was like āOh hey, you rolled over a thousand miles! Niceā
I was then inspired to try to figure out how many miles Iāve put on the bullitt since I got it on 2/9/2020. Iāve put 1947.5 miles on it with the di2 internal gearz and 4777 miles on it since the switch to external gearing for a grand total of 6724.5 recorded miles. I donāt know what the point of this was other than to satisfy my curiosity.
Getting close to $1/mi? (I ignore maintenance/dithering expenses - just base bike cost).
Edit: Or your Bullitt was second-hand? So youāre probably way under (or need to count dithering costs).
It was second hand in that it sat in some boomerās garage for a couple years and got ridden to the coffee shop a few times. He said it had ~50mi on it and I believe it. The stock tires still had the nubbins on them.
I paid $3700 for the bike, so Iām closer to $.50/mi!
Iāve got about 4000 miles on my Big Dummy now, with about 1500 on the e-kit. Mileage has fallen off a lot lately, but I just ordered a new harness for the Yepp Maxi that should cinch tighter than the current one and then the baby will be ready to roll!
THEYāRE TRACKING OUR CARS!!!
Where does that put your mi/$? Iāll bet you got me beat, especially if you donāt count the cost of the e kit. Didnāt you get the bike for a song?
I got the bike for like $800 but Iāve probably got close to another $2k in it between the dyno lights and then the electric kit and now the dropper post. Still doing pretty good but more than 50 cents a mile!
I am never doing the math on dollars per mile on any of my bikes.
Pretty sure Iām at $90/mile on the Boost right now (because it only has 50 miles on it).
Got a CB2 media console for $90. It weighs like 150lb though. And once again the craigslist seller was like, āare you sure? We can hold it if you need to find a ride?ā Luckily this lady just left me to it instead of watching me slowly ride away like the last guy.
Iām getting toward A$1/km on the Spicy Curry. Feels good man.
