It was said that master textile weavers of Central Asia would deliberately make a single wrong stitch, leaving perfection to God. As it was with them, so it is with the shifter on that bike
If you’re going to do an eccentric build you need to *commit* to that build.
That’s pretty close, only a stone’s throw away
Bricks aren’t stones, but I bet it took some to ride that wheelbarrow home.
But with a Ford F350 long box you could have carried wayyyyyyyy more bricks!
yo @EndpointBraden can we hear some more about this?
It’s like that piaggio with the two front wheels.
Maybe I’m in a bad mood, but that thing is horrible.
Don’t try to tell me it’s some budget employee build -any emoyee should have 2 or 10 nicer used parts in seatposts than that. Instead that is grade A brand new turdliness. Zac 19? Schrader? Machined brake track?
Even if you’re starting with a Cyclefab kit, if you work at a frame shop you can damn well remove the front canti posts. Have some pride.
Get better cable management, get a better basket attachment method, build a better battery location in that nice huge space under the downtube.
Kudos for matching tires, and not having alternate silver/black spacers. Everything else is just sad.
Well, it’s Rodriguez.
Yeah, I have an Omnium Minimax. Had it maybe 4 years now? I love it! It’s pretty much the only bike I’ve ridden for the past three years or so. Held up just fine. The most I’ve ever carried is 22kg child up front, 10kg child on rear, me (80-something kg) and assorted snacks, school bags etc and it’s perfectly fine for that.
My only complaint is that the rear disc mount is ever-so-slightly out of alignment so it’s always squealed. But I almost never use it and in an emergency, it’s probably good to have a built-in siren.
PS been a while since I’ve been on Tarck. Hi, Blakey!
Hi! Hope you’re well Jeff, haven’t had any free time in Melbourne lately to swing through BWK and say hello.
I have no idea where to start.
Outpost employee made it from scratch while attending MICA. It’s wild.
huh, that frame design is great if you want to carry some stuff but also do a wheelie whenever you want
Yeah, it’s confusing considering the employee is a pretty bike huge nerd. I expected something much better from someone with full control over the manufacture & build
Alternately, as a framebuilder, they are in the unique position of building a frame to specifically accommodate all that partsbin shit?
Anyway I think it’s cool
Ain’t anything wrong with a zac19 that a careful wheelbuild can’t fix.
Found a fucking deal on a tool cabinet. Unfortunately it was on the other side of SF, literally at the last street before the ocean.
Impressive! Next challenge: lathe.
