All you folks and your bikes just make me wish I had some sort of cargo machine even though I don’t have a good rationale for one right now

Groceries are the best excuse I can think of.

Did a bunch of modifications this week.

Took off the Ergon GE1 Evo & replaced with new Ergon GA3 lock on grips. The wide palm area feels AWESOME, way better than I expected with the sweep of the Ahearne+Map Handlebar.

Upgraded from localized AA powered battery lights (B&M IXON IQ Premium and Toplight Line Permanent) to B&M IQ-X E (150 Lux) and Toplight Line E (B&M323/5AEL0211) with a wide input range of 6-60VDC designed for eBike power. Added in a cheap $7 handlebar mounted switch, probably going to find something a little better quality eventually since it is definitely not “waterproof” as advertised.

I also put on these ridiculous arrow reflectors for my wide load.

My favorite thing about a heavy bike is adding tons of shit because its already heavy, who cares?

I think the Squirrel Truck is the nerdiest nerd bike of all time.

the best thing that happened to that bike was hitting the puddle of white paint for inadvertent splatter colorway

i forgot, whats the story

Rented a house in Seattle that had a garage/shed filled with landlord crap including painting and building supplies. Moved all junk into one area to give me room for bikes and work bench. Put all paint cans along wall on shelving including a shelf high up and out of reach. Didn’t really consider how shelving was attached to the wall. Months later I was working in the backyard when hear loud crash, ran into garage to discover top shelf (seen in photo) was only secured with two small nails but was supporting a dozen partially filled paint cans I had put up there. Whoops!

I am waiting for a similar negligent landlord-related catastrophe in my basement any time now.

Make sure you have color coordinating paint stacked above your bike. Mask off the grips and tires.

These things seem useful if they don’t catastrophically fail after a few hundred uses, and with that price they better last a couple hundred uses.

What if cargo bikes were designed with jones cockpit geo and omnium front end

Or wait

If I could find a framebuilder who would do that I might

What, a 72° sta?

huh that’s a velcro version of ROK Straps

somehow even more expensive though

Those ROK straps actually give me all of it. Thanks for pointing those out.

putting a short dynamic section at one end of a longer adjustable static line is always a winning idea
