We started with cloth but couldn’t deal with all the blowouts we had. Props to whoever can manage doing it all the way.

been there. we stocked up on more to relieve the stress of it a little.

do your own wash and you’ll never run out… of laundry to do :grinning: :joy:  :sob:

was usually the covers that were a limiting reagent for us.i have to have done 300+ loads of diapers at this point…

Did cloth, was a lot to handle.

Uuuugh I got a Tubus Tara Big Apple from Germany and it just doesn’t fit the Big Dummy. Basically the fork tubes are just too big to properly attach the rack. And even if I could mount it, the disc brake mount interferes with the fender mount and I guess I’d rather have fenders than the rack.

I’ve emailed Surly to see if they have any guidance but if anybody wants the Tara I will sell it for Euro price plus actual shipping. I don’t know that it’s worth trying to return lol

Won’t work with some spacers on the attachment bolts?

I think you could if you were determined but it would need like a solid inch of spacers and at that point I worry about breaking something down the line

I’ve run a Tara with probably an inch of spacers before. They even sell especially long spacer tube pieces for this purpose. But I don’t know how ridiculous the situation really is.

Hmm interesting. I will look into this. I’m not going to run big loads on the front, basically just want to run some waterproof panniers under some conditions

i had issues with the tara on my endpoint fork, but mostly mount and brake issues iirc. the salsa down under worked great, and the tubus duo seems like it would also work. worth checking out i reckon

First big grocery run on this thing. I really gotta got a bin or a box. A+ dual loony bin wine portage.

I have, I think its this size, of this cheap bin on mine, I just have it lashed down but you could drill and bolt it to the baseplate easily. Light, cheap, usually use it without the lid unless its raining.

I like these a lot and they’re easy to steal from the back of rite aide or Auto zones

I got a big plastic one like this from home depot that was pretty sturdy. Bolted it to a plywood base and made some holes in the end so I could attach the car seat base with the latch. Worked great.

Do you have a pic of the kid seat attachment?
I just picked up a cheap bin from target. It seems kinda flimsy.

Not wonderful pictures but hopefully gets the point across. We used a Graco car seat that snaps into a separate base, found an extra base on the sidewalk.

Put eyebolts on the tabs on the lower back part of the cargo area. Cut a couple of holes in the plastic box large enough for the latch hooks to get through to attach to the eyebolts.

Base and the carseat squeezed in there nicely. Was a little fiddly to pull the handle and release the base but fine once you figure it out.

I’ve seen people do this without the box as well. Good luck!
